PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, inspected the routes that will be used by the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), starting from Jalan Ahmad Yani to Asia Afrika (22/4/2025).
The routes monitored include passing through the Jalan Ahmad Yani area (Kosambi-Cicadas), then to Jalan Terusan Jakarta, and heading to Jalan Asia Afrika crossing Jalan Ahmad Yani again.
"The BRT project from the Central Government funded by the World Bank has started running. If you look along Jalan Ahmad Yani to Asia Afrika, there are already red markers that say 'BRT 1'," said Mayor Farhan on the sidelines of the inspection.
In this activity, Mayor Farhan and a number of accompanying Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) conducted a simulation by cycling, then stopping at the designated bus stops.
This is done to directly assess the social and economic impacts that may arise, as well as to observe the potential for congestion due to the presence of bus stops.
"We are conducting a survey to see what the impact will be on the community. By cycling, we stop at several bus stops and see firsthand how traffic flow will be affected," explained Mayor Farhan.
In Bandung City, a total of 34 BRT stops will be built. From the results of the review, Mayor Farhan said, several points that were considered quite worrying were along the Kosambi to Cicadas area, due to the potential for higher traffic density in the area.
The construction of the BRT is expected to be a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and comfortable mass transportation solution for Bandung City residents, while still considering the social aspects along the route that will be crossed. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fau)
