PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Heavy rain that poured down on Bandung City on Saturday (3/15/2025) caused several areas to be submerged in floods. Responding to this condition, Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan, together with Deputy Mayor Erwin, moved quickly to review the locations affected by the flood to ensure emergency response steps for residents.

One of the points visited was Gang Apandi, Braga Village, and the Pagarsih area, which is a regular flood due to the overflowing Cikapundung and Citepus Rivers. In addition, Farhan also reviewed the flood in the Gempolsari area.

Based on temporary monitoring, hundreds of houses were affected by flooding in several RW in Braga Village. In addition, dozens of families from RT 4 and 5 RW 08 Braga had to temporarily evacuate to Braga Kindergarten.

The Bandung City Fire and Disaster Management Service (Diskar PB) together with a number of Regional Apparatus (PD) were immediately deployed to pump out water and help relocate residents.

The Diskar PB Rapid Reaction Team also reported that several other areas experienced flooding and waterlogging, including:
- Braga – Apandi Alley
- Ciamis Village
- Pajajaran – Nangkasuni Alley
- The Garden
- The fence
- Antapani
- Pasirkoja
- Gempolsari
- Cingised, Arcamanik

As a follow-up, Farhan instructed the Social Service to provide clean water for affected residents. In addition, the Health Service will conduct health screenings for residents to prevent the spread of diseases such as diarrhea and dengue fever after the flood.

"We have to be alert because usually two to three days after a flood, residents can experience diarrhea. Once the dry season arrives at the end of March, after Eid we will prepare fogging to prevent dengue fever," said Farhan.

He also appealed to the public to play an active role in disaster mitigation and improve Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) to reduce the risk of post-flood diseases.

"I urge residents to play an active role in protecting the environment, especially around the Cikapundung River. In addition, it is important to improve PHBS to minimize the risk of post-flood diseases," he said.

He also instructed related agencies, sub-district heads and village heads to continue to monitor the conditions in their respective areas.

According to him, in a situation like this, the effectiveness of coordination and speed of response are the main keys. Therefore, he appealed to all government officials to play an active role.

Deputy Mayor of Bandung Erwin, also reviewed the conditions at the Cingised, Arcamanik, and Babakan Ciamis Flats, Sumur Bandung and a number of other locations.
