PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan admitted that he has not been able to realize the public's wish to open Bandung Zoo during the upcoming Eid holiday.

Farhan also apologized to the public regarding the Bandung Zoo not yet operating, which until now has not received an operational permit from the Ministry of Forestry, which revoked the permit of the Tamansari Wildlife Foundation (YMT) conservation institution that manages the Bandung Zoo.

This was conveyed during the 21st Ramadan safari activity at the Grand Mosque of Bandung, Thursday (12/3/2026).

"Hopefully, this problem can be resolved soon so that Bandung Zoo can resume operations," he said.

He hopes that this problem can be resolved soon so that the tourist destination can be reopened to the public.

Farhan also said that several entertainment venues in Bandung City would temporarily suspend operations for one week as part of the restructuring efforts.

According to him, this step was taken so that after the Eid holiday period, these entertainment venues could return to operating in a better and orderly manner.

"We hope that after the Eid holiday, these entertainment venues can resume operations properly," he said.

Apart from that, the Mayor of Bandung expressed his appreciation to all regional and community levels who have supported various programs of the Bandung City Government (Pemkot).

On that occasion, Farhan admitted that during his several months of work, there were still a number of shortcomings that needed to be fixed.

However, he believes that various problems that arise in the city of Bandung can be handled well through communication and collaboration with various parties, including the central government.

"I've been communicating extensively with various parties, including the central government, because many issues in Bandung City are related to national policies. Thank God, we've been able to handle these issues effectively," he said.

Farhan also expressed his gratitude to all regional officials, from sub-districts and urban villages to the heads of neighborhood associations (RT) and neighborhood associations (RW) who have supported the implementation of various city government programs.

He emphasized that a number of programs currently being implemented are also the result of input from the public through various communication channels.

"Many of the programs we implement aren't entirely my own ideas. We've received a lot of input from the public through various media, and in a relatively short time, we've been able to adopt and develop some of them," he said.

However, Farhan acknowledged that there are still a number of shortcomings in the implementation of development programs in Bandung. He also assured that the Bandung City Government will continue to make gradual improvements.

"Of course, there are still weaknesses and shortcomings. But God willing, we will continue to improve them together," he added. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/rka)
