PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - Bogor Mayor, Dedie A. Rachim, held a strategic meeting with DKI Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, to discuss strengthening cross-regional synergy within the Jabodetabek agglomeration framework.
The meeting, which took place at the DKI Jakarta City Hall on Monday (May 4, 2026), discussed a number of strategic urban issues, ranging from mass transportation connectivity, flood mitigation, to strengthening the environmental sector and basic services.

One of the main focuses of the discussion was the development of integrated transportation, including the continuation of the Jabodebek LRT project, the integration of TransJakarta services with the Bogor–Blok M route, and strengthening connectivity to the Bubulak Terminal in Bogor City.

In addition to the transportation sector, the two parties also discussed concrete steps to mitigate flooding through a collaborative interregional approach. This is considered crucial given the interconnected hydrological and river flow issues from upstream to downstream, necessitating integrated, cross-regional management.

The meeting also discussed opportunities for grant support and cross-sectoral strengthening, particularly in the areas of waste management, environmental conservation, increasing fire mitigation capacity, and developing infrastructure that supports safe, comfortable, and sustainable community mobility.
The discussion also focused on strengthening the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) agglomeration concept, which now has a legal basis through national regulations. With this legal framework, inter-regional coordination is expected to be more structured, integrated, and effective in implementing development programs.

Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim emphasized that Bogor City has a strategic position as a main buffer city for Jakarta, so cross-regional collaboration is key in addressing various urban challenges.
"Issues such as transportation, flooding, the environment, and disaster management cannot be resolved in isolation. Joint action within an agglomeration framework is necessary to ensure comprehensive, measurable, and truly impactful responses for the community," he stressed.
