PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - High enthusiasm was shown by residents and communities who worked together to clean roads, sidewalks, drainage, as well as painting vandalism and cleaning up piles of wild garbage at Bebersih Bandung to commemorate the 214th Anniversary of the City of Bandung (HJKB), Tuesday (17/9/2024)

One of them was shown by the Caring Chinese Community. With great enthusiasm, dozens of its members worked together to clean the sidewalks of Jalan Soekarno. One of the representatives of the Caring Chinese Community, Stenick Yustanto, said that his community felt called to maintain the cleanliness of the city of Bandung.

Apart from taking part in Bebersih Bandung, they also distributed 500 t-shirts to residents at the event.

"We provide uniforms to help clean up Bandung City, as many as 500 t-shirts. Hopefully, Bandung City with the current City Government can be more solid in realizing a clean and tidy Bandung," he said.

Lions Group Region 1 Chairman Lion Irwandi along with 40 Lions Group members also participated in the Clean Bandung activity.

According to him, this participation is a source of pride to work together to realize cleanliness in the city of Bandung, especially in the run-up to the 214th anniversary of the city of Bandung.

"We must maintain the city of Bandung in a way like today we are cleaning it so that it becomes a tourist city and everyone who comes to Bandung feels safe, comfortable and friendly," he said.

"We must always provide the best example for and from the city of Bandung itself. Happy 214th birthday to the city of Bandung, always be successful," he said.

In addition to the community, there are also community organizations present in Bebersih Bandung. One of them is the DPD LDII of Bandung City.

Chairman of DPD LDII Bandung City Edi Sunandar admitted to spreading all his members to work together throughout the city of Bandung. In addition, he and 125 other members also cleaned up around Jalan Asia Afrika.

"This Bandung clean-up event is very positive and has many benefits. Of course, this clean-up is in our framework to create a good, healthy and beautiful environment," he said.

He hopes that this activity will not only be carried out at certain moments, but that every day Bandung City residents can protect their environment.

"From initially often throwing garbage carelessly, we now throw garbage in its place. Even further, we can sort garbage so that it can still be useful and utilized," he said.
