PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor Bey Machmudin and community leaders took part in a convoy using electric motorbikes at the Electric Vehicle Fun Carnival event on Jalan Diponegoro, Bandung City, Friday (23/8/2024).

EV Fun Carnival filled the first day of the 2024 West Java Festival (WJF). The EV Fun Carnival convoy was attended by around 150 electric motorbikes, aiming to stimulate the public to switch from fossil fuel vehicles (gasoline, diesel) to battery-based vehicles (electric).

According to the Acting Governor, the EV Fun Carnival will be the forerunner to the implementation of emission-free vehicles at Gedung Sate on certain days.

"Starting next week, we will transform Gedung Sate into an emission-free zone. All emission-free vehicles are allowed to enter, including regular bicycles, electric bicycles, electric motorbikes, and electric cars. This will apply every Thursday and Friday every week," said Bey Machmudin.

At the EV Fun Carnival, the Acting Governor presented awards to agencies and business entities that are committed to strengthening the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) ecosystem.

The public can also find a workshop for converting fossil fuel vehicles to electric vehicles managed by SMK Negeri 8 Bandung.

In addition to electric vehicles, WJF also promotes the use of electric stoves at Samara 2024, a competition for regional chefs in West Java.

WJF promotes electric vehicles and electric stoves to support global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and air pollution.
