PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government through the Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud) will hold a conference and exhibition (COFEX) which will showcase creative products of games, applications, and cool animations at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, on August 21-24, 2024.

Head of West Java Tourism and Culture Office, Benny Bachtiar, said that the conference and exhibition were part of the West Java Festival (WJF) and Connecti:City series of events and were the embodiment of the Proudly Made in Indonesia (BBI) campaign.

"COFEX is a series of WJF and Connecti:City which provides a seminar forum and matchmaking between industry and creative economy players to support the growth of competitiveness of domestic products. This event is also a means of promoting innovation and creativity of local products, especially in the animation, games, and applications sub-sectors," said Benny Bachtiar in Bandung City, Tuesday (20/8/2024).

He also said that the exhibition was held to support the acceleration of national game development in accordance with the mandate of Presidential Regulation Number 19 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of the Development of the National Game Industry and to increase partnerships between creative economy actors and the industrial world.

In addition, the exhibition is also aimed at introducing gamification in helping the effectiveness and efficiency of the company's business processes to large industry players, while also facilitating business matching and networking between applications, games, and animations with large industry players.

The activity is expected to create new opportunities for mutually beneficial and innovative collaboration. It is hoped that the application, game, and animation sub-sectors can develop more rapidly and be in demand by the wider community, which will certainly have a positive impact on economic growth.

"This is a strategic step in responding to the challenges of employment and the economy in West Java. In addition, it also prepares human resources and institutions that are more ready to face the future," said Benny.

The COFEX concept is divided into three sessions, namely seminars and panel discussions, exhibitions and demonstrations, and matchmaking and networking.

In addition, the music sub-sector will also be featured as a supporter of the game developer sub-sector in the form of an orchestra (Parchestra) that will perform the game's music score.
