PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government is targeting visits of around 65,000 people at the 2024 West Java Festival (WJF) which will be centered at Gedung Sate, Jalan Diponegoro, Bandung City, on August 21-25.
West Java Festival 2024 is held to commemorate the 79th anniversary of West Java Province which falls every August 19.
"The target is 65,000 tourists will attend," said Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin after the West Java Bewara (BeJa) in the yard of the Gedung Sate, Tuesday (20/8/2024).
With a target of 65,000 visitors, it is expected that the money turnover will be more than Rp500 billion. This target is based on the previous year's WJF, where the money turnover reached Rp523 billion during the three days of the event.
It is not an exaggeration considering that WJF 2024 will be held for five days. "I am sure it will be bigger because this is a very big annual event," Bey said.
Unlike WJF 2023 which showcases development results, WJF 2024 will highlight West Java's superior potential such as MSMEs, tourism, and culture. The event itself will be centered at Gedung Sate and other places.
Starting at Gedung Sate, the pre-event on August 21-22, 2024 will feature various interesting expos. Next, on August 23, WJF will focus on the arts festival. Then, a cultural event will be held on August 24, 2024, and will end with a music concert on August 25, 2024 at GOR Saparua Bandung. This music concert will feature a number of top artists from the capital city from West Java.
Bey invites the public to enliven WJF 2024 because in addition to being entertaining, there are also many inspiring activities. Bey wants WJF 2024 to be a memorable event in the hearts of the public.
"We want this WJF to be a memorable event that the public will not forget. We show that we are able to hold a very good and proud event, hopefully there will be tourists from outside West Java and abroad," said Bey.
