PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government is transforming the Nirmala tourist area in Malasari Village, Nanggung District, into a prime new tourist destination, following the reconstruction of the previously badly damaged Nirmala road infrastructure.
Tourists come to experience the smooth road access with beautiful views of the Nirmala tea plantation hills.
Tourists from outside the Nanggung sub-district flocked to visit during the Eid holiday, Monday (23/3/2026), making the local situation as busy as in the Puncak area on weekends.
This significant change is concrete evidence of infrastructure development during the era of Bogor Regent, Rudy Susmanto, especially through the construction of Nirmala Road which was previously badly damaged.
Previously, access to the tourist area at the foot of Mount Halimun Salak National Park was notoriously difficult. The rocky and muddy roads during the rainy season made the area seem isolated for decades.
Now, its appearance has completely changed into a smooth road that is comfortable for two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles to pass through.
These changes have had a direct impact on increasing tourist arrivals. During the Eid al-Fitr holiday, traffic to the Nirmala area was observed to be congested. In fact, the atmosphere was said to be starting to resemble the Puncak area on weekends.
Local residents appreciate the performance of the District Government in repairing the road which is now passable.
"Thank you for the development work done by Mr. Rudy Susmanto. Now the village is starting to become widely known as a new tourist destination," said a resident.
A resident said that now Malasari Village is like a tourist area in Puncak.
Many vehicles arrive from outside the district, even from Jakarta and Tangerang. This situation also boosts the local economy, along with the increase in tourist visits.
The construction of Nirmala Road itself is a strategic project that opens up connecting access between Bogor Regency and Sukabumi Regency.
