PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung City hosted the Women Empowerment in Football event, which was held to develop globally competitive female football coaches and talents through a coaching clinic program at Sidolig Field (11/04/2026).

This activity is a collaboration between the All Indonesia Football Association, the French Football Federation, the French Embassy, and the Institut Français Indonesia.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said the program was an important momentum to strengthen the role of women in the development of national football.

"This is the time for us to prove that the future of Indonesian football at the global level lies in the hands of female football coaches and players," said Farhan.

He believes that international collaboration opens up opportunities for the younger generation, especially women, to gain experience and training of global standards.

This program is also expected to strengthen the women's soccer development ecosystem in Bandung City.

West Java Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Chairman Buky Wibawa welcomed the activity positively, saying it was considered capable of promoting gender equality through sports.

"Football is not just about sport, but also about gender equality," said Buky.

He believes that West Java has great potential among women, which needs to be continuously encouraged through sustainable development programs.

This women's soccer coaching clinic took place for two days on April 11–12, 2026 at Sidolig Field, Persib Stadium, Jalan Ahmad Yani, Bandung City.

Participants received eight main training materials covering shooting techniques, coordination without the ball, understanding how to read the opponent's game, and practice combining passes and ball control.

The activity also includes class sessions, discussions, and mini games as part of strengthening the participants' technical and tactical skills.
