PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary Endin Samsudin opened the commemoration of World Hearing Day 2026 and launched the Hearing Care School program at SMP Negeri Satu Cikarang Selatan through hearing screening activities for students as a step for early detection of hearing disorders (11/04/2026).

The examination involved students, teachers, and health workers to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining hearing health from school age.

The Bekasi Regency Government is implementing this activity as a preventative measure so that hearing loss in children can be detected early.

"Undetected hearing loss early can impact a child's academic achievement, psychological development, and even their future quality of life. Therefore, hearing screening in schools is a highly strategic preventative measure. This demonstrates our shared commitment to ensuring that Bekasi Regency's young generation grows up healthy, intelligent, and prepared for the future," said Endin.

The Hearing Care School Program is implemented through collaboration between local governments, health workers, the education sector, and professional organizations.

The Bekasi Regency Government believes that schools play an important role not only as a place of learning, but also as a safe and healthy space for student growth and development.

It is hoped that this program can be implemented in more schools so that its benefits can be felt by more students in Bekasi Regency.

"Maintaining health is a long-term investment for the future. We hope this program will become a sustainable movement with a broad impact," said Endin.

World Hearing Day commemoration activities also included health education, ear examinations, and outreach on how to maintain hearing hygiene for students.

The Bekasi Regency Government is committed to continuing to support public health programs as an effort to create a healthy, superior, and quality generation.
