PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - The Indonesian Cancer Foundation (YKI) Ciamis Regency Branch distributed aid to 78 beneficiaries to support cancer patients and their families.

The activity with the theme "Sowing Hope, Supporting the Resilience of Cancer Fighters" took place in the Hall of the Ciamis Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) Building on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

A total of 64 cancer patients who are still undergoing treatment and 14 families of deceased patients received compensation.

The Chairperson of the YKI Ciamis Regency Branch, Kania Ernawati Herdiat, said the assistance was a form of concern for patients and their families.

"You are not alone. There are families supporting you, healthcare workers serving you, a government that is trying to be there, and a community that cares," Kania said.

The message "I am strong, I can, I am cured" is an encouragement for patients to continue undergoing treatment with effort and trust in God.

Ciamis Regent Herdiat Sunarya asked cancer patients to continue undergoing treatment and not give up on the disease.

"Cancer is a serious illness. However, you must never give up and keep trying. Equally important, never waver in your faith that Allah SWT will surely provide a cure, because for Him, nothing is impossible," said Herdiat.

Herdiat said that the support of family, community, government, National Alms Agency (Baznas), and various parties is a strength for patients.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you're not alone. Your family, your community, your government, and the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) are here to help. I'm confident everything can be resolved if we live up to the Ciamis Regency tagline of "guyub ngawangun Galuh," he said.

The culture of mutual cooperation in the Ciamis community also helps residents cope with regional budget limitations in providing social support.

"If you look at regional finances, they consistently run into deficits every year. But despite these budget limitations, what strengthens me is the community's spirit of mutual cooperation, working together to help one another," he said.

The assistance comes from Baznas through donations from state civil servants (ASN) and support from Bank BJB's corporate social responsibility.

Herdiat instructed the Ciamis Regency Baznas to record the accounts of cancer patients to facilitate the provision of monthly stimulus assistance.

"Get well soon, live long, and be blessed with abundant blessings. Keep up the good work, as it will greatly impact your recovery," Herdiat advised.

The activity continued with a sharing session as a space for sharing experiences, strengthening, and motivation for cancer patients and their families.

Through this assistance and support, YKI Ciamis encourages public awareness to continue helping patients face the treatment process.
