PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Archery has become popular among various groups, from children to adults. In the city of Bandung, there is one archery community that has been established since 2012, namely the Bandung Archery Club & School.

Chairman of the Bandung Archery Club & School, Wa Abong, said that since it was founded in 2012, the Bandung Archery Club & School has produced many outstanding archery athletes and diligently sent representatives to the Bandung City Porda team.

Apart from that, many athletes from this community have also represented their respective regions in the Regional Sports Week (Porda), especially West Java. Starting from Bandung City, Bandung Regency, Sukabumi, and many more.

"We have developed many athletes from young ages, students to adults. In 2014, 2018, until the end of 2021, many Bandung Archery members strengthened the Bandung City Porda team," he said, when met at the Bandung Archery training arena. , some time ago.

Bandung Archery Club & School, apart from being a gathering place for archers, is also a place of learning for people who want to try archery.

This club is popular with people of all ages. Currently there are approximately 1,000 club members, both from Bandung City and outside Bandung.

Wa Abong said that people who want to join can come directly to the Bandung Archery Club & School training ground which is held every day.

There are two categories, namely regular and fundamental. According to him, this regular class is only for practicing this arrow with all ages.

Meanwhile, for fundamentals, certain conditions apply, for example age from 9 years to 50 years.

He said, people who want to join and take part in training can immediately pay an administrative fee of Rp. 55 thousand for 1.5 hours of training with a trainer and be loaned the equipment.

Meanwhile, for those who want to become a member, they only need to pay IDR 100 thousand, then the next training will be IDR 40 thousand.

"If you are serious about practicing twice a week, in one month you will achieve a score above 300 over a certain distance," he said.

Bandung Archery is open every Monday-Friday at 16.00-21.00 WIB. Meanwhile, on Saturday and Sunday it opens from 10.00 WIB on Jalan Gudang Utara, Bandung City.
