PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Acting Regent of Bekasi, Dr. Asep Surya Atmaja, emphasized the importance of neutrality, integrity, and prudence in managing village government during the leadership transition period.

This message was conveyed in the mandate of the Acting Regent of Bekasi which was read out by the Sub-district Heads at the inauguration and oath-taking ceremony of 154 Acting Village Heads throughout Bekasi Regency, simultaneously in 23 sub-districts, on Tuesday (29/9/2026).

The inauguration of the Acting Village Heads will be carried out after the village head's term of office ends on September 28, 2026. The Acting Village Heads will carry out their duties until the village head resulting from the 2026 Simultaneous Village Head Election is inaugurated on November 4, 2026.

In his address, Dr. Asep Surya Atmaja emphasized that the appointment of the Acting Village Head was not merely to fill a vacant position, but to ensure that the wheels of government and services to the community continued to run.

He asked all Acting Village Heads to carry out their mandate with full integrity, professionalism and neutrality, and not to side with political interests or certain groups.

"Use this transition period as a time for maintenance, not change. Ensure the government continues to function, rather than creating new policies that exceed needs, and provide the best possible service to the public," he stressed.

The Acting Regent also reminded the public that village finances and assets must be managed in an orderly, transparent, and accountable manner during the transition period, in accordance with statutory provisions.

Every policy and use of the budget, he said, must be accountable and not give rise to new problems in the future.

Dr. Asep asked village officials to continue to provide support to the Acting Village Head so that the change in leadership does not disrupt public services.

Meanwhile, he asked the sub-district heads to provide guidance and supervision on the implementation of village government in their respective areas according to their authority.

After all stages of the 2026 Simultaneous Village Head Elections were completed, the Acting Regent also urged all elements of the village government to put aside political differences during the election process and return to focusing on the interests of the community.

The Acting Village Head was asked to provide fair services to all members of the community without differentiating between political choices.

"Your term of office is indeed temporary, but you must still carry out your responsibilities seriously," said Dr. Asep.

He hopes that coordination between the Acting Village Head, village officials, BPD, sub-district heads and the Bekasi Regency Government can ensure that village government continues to run safely, orderly and smoothly until the inauguration of the village head resulting from the Simultaneous Village Head Election on November 4, 2026.
