PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A total of 600 participants took part in the Fun Bike Tribute to Ir. Ir. Soekarno which was organized by the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar). Starting from Kiara Artha Park, participants will traverse an 18 kilometer track and trace Bung Karno's historical footsteps in the city of Bandung.
Acting The Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, who opened and unwinded the activity, expressed his pride in the various potentials that exist in the City of Bandung. One of them is the potential for historical educational tourism.
“There is a lot of history, tourism and culinary potential in the city of Bandung. We must be proud to be citizens of Bandung City. "This is one of the tourist centers in Indonesia," said Bambang (9/6/2024).
He hopes that all participants will feel happiness and receive rich historical information after participating in this activity.
Apart from that, Bambang also recommended Bandung City as a favorite tourist destination, especially for tourists from outside the city. Bambang said, Bandung City has three advantages: weather, atmosphere and culture.
"For participants from outside the city, we ask to tell about exciting experiences in this city. "Hopefully the participants will have an enjoyable experience," said Bambang.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Disbudpar, Arif Syaifudin, said that Fun Bike Tribute to Ir. Soekarno is part of the Bandung City Events Calendar. According to Arif, this activity will be held every year.
"Through this activity, participants will receive historical education through Bung Karno's heritage buildings," he said.
On this occasion, a representative from the Bung Karno Foundation, Folmer Silalahi, said that this cycling activity was a way to understand the values of Bung Karno's struggle with joy.
"We interpret the values of Bung Karno's struggle, although in a relaxed and fun way," said Folmer.
Furthermore, he said there were more than 11 historical buildings created by Bung Karno. These include: Residential Houses on Jalan Malabar (Twin Houses), Mrs. Inggit Garnasih's House, Indonesia MengSud Building, Banceuy Prison, as well as several mosques and residential houses.
