SEMARANG CITY -- Acting (Pj.) Chair of the West Java Province TP PKK Amanda Soemedi Bey Machmudin attended the 31st National Family Day (Harganas) Peak Event at Pancasila Square, Simpang Lima, Semarang City, Central Java, Saturday (29/6/ 2024).

The event was attended by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy and the Head of BKKBN Hasto Wardoyo.

This year's Harganas carries the theme "Quality Families Towards a Golden Indonesia". This theme is in line with BKKBN's vision and mission in creating quality and capable Indonesian families.

The Harganas commemoration is an effort to remind all Indonesian people about the importance of family in building the nation and state.

Head of BKKBN Hasto Wardoyo said that the family is the smallest unit in society. It is a place to shelter, love and protect each other.

"From this family, the sons and daughters of the next generation who determine the future will be born. The family plays a role in passing on the noble values of life in determining the development of the nation and state," said Hasto.

Hasto invites parents and all stakeholders to work together to build a good family. According to him, building a family must start from the family.

"Let's make this Harganas momentum an important momentum for all of us to revive family functions," he said.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy said that Indonesia would experience a demographic bonus earlier than previously estimated.

"Our calculations will occur in 2030, in 2035 we will experience an aging population. Based on existing data, we have now entered the demographic bonus era," said Muhadjir.

Therefore, Muhadjir said that there needs to be hard work in an effort to prepare a truly quality family that has strong resilience and is competitive.

"Preparing a quality family, one that has competitiveness, strong resilience, a sakinah family, we need to work hard. That is the responsibility of all of us," he said.
