PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin invited all Civil Service Apparatus (ASN) of the Bandung City Regional Government to be role models in maintaining cleanliness and increasing awareness of disaster mitigation.

He conveyed this in the Islamic Spiritual Activities within the Bandung City Government in 2025 in order to increase the faith and devotion of ASN, BUMD employees and Regional Hospitals within the Bandung City Government at the Al Ukhuwwah Grand Mosque, Wednesday (12/3/2025).

One of the main focuses in his direction is environmental issues, especially related to waste problems in the city of Bandung.

Erwin invited ASN to start the change from themselves by reducing the use of single-use plastic, sorting organic and non-organic waste, and setting a good example for the community.

"Cleanliness is part of faith. Every small action, including protecting the environment, will have a big impact on oneself and society," he said.

In addition to the waste problem, disaster risk mitigation in Bandung City, such as floods and landslides, is also a concern. According to him, ASN must be at the forefront in educating the public about disaster mitigation.

"We cannot just be busy working behind a desk. ASN must go down to the community, be a role model, and be active in disaster prevention efforts. We must not be like people who only bring an umbrella after being caught in the rain," he said.

As a concrete step, Erwin said, the Bandung City Government has issued a Circular regarding guidelines for ASN in responding to disaster situations.

Erwin emphasized that ASN must be the main driver in disaster anticipation efforts, not just reactive after a disaster occurs.

In addition, Erwin also invited ASN to spread kindness in the workplace, home, and community. He likened kindness to perfume, which is not only enjoyed by others but also by oneself.

"Let us work hard with integrity that comes from faith. Bandung Utama: superior, open, trustworthy, advanced, and religious, we can realize together," he said.
