PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor Bey Machmudin stated that West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati will remain the official departure and return airport for the 2025 Hajj season.

Not only that, in 2025 the airport in Majalengka Regency will also be used by Umrah pilgrims both in West Java and the Central Java border.

This was stated by Bey when commemorating the 79th Charity Day at the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Bandung City, Friday (3/1/2025).

"Earlier, the Regional Office said that Kertajati (Airport) could be maintained as an international airport, which is true because there are hajj departures," said Bey.

"One more thing, your Umrah will be from Kertajati, God willing, it will take place this January," said Bey Machmudin.

One of them is optimizing services in the hajj dormitories. Specifically, Bey asked for facilities at the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory to be improved.

In addition to the airport, the dormitory is a determinant of the success of the hajj pilgrimage by the government. However, with the commitment of the West Java Ministry of Religious Affairs, Bey is optimistic that everything will run smoothly.

"We are also ready to support, depending on the request from the Ministry regarding what is needed. We want (the dormitory) to be tidied up, including the road, the mosque, so that the congregation is comfortable, and later when the time comes, it will not only be for the Hajj congregation but also for other activities," said Bey.

Head of the West Java Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, Ajam Mustajam, confirmed that Kertajati Airport will again be used as a departure and return point for hajj pilgrims. Not only that, the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory will also be ready.

"God willing, in 2025 the Hajj Dormitory and Kertajati Airport will send off all West Java hajj pilgrims via Kertajati Airport in 60 groups," said Ajam.

Ajam appreciated the West Java Provincial Government for helping the Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office so that the Hajj pilgrimage could still be a success. One of them was a grant of Rp18 billion for the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory.

To improve services for Hajj pilgrims, Tower 3 of the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory has been built in 2024. It is planned that in 2025, Tower 4, a Hajj dormitory kitchen, and a health clinic will also be built.

"In the 2024 Hajj season, West Java's quota is 38,260 pilgrims with 93 flight groups, some of which have departed via Kertajati Airport in Majalengka," he said.

The Day of Charity or the anniversary of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs is commemorated every January 3. This year, it was simultaneously attended by around 31 thousand ASN of the Ministry of Religious Affairs throughout West Java, with the tagline 'Umat Harmonious Towards a Golden Indonesia'.
