PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin hopes that the ITB Art Market will be able to strengthen the creative economy industry ecosystem in West Java.

According to him, the ITB Art Market is not only a celebration of art and music, but also a joint commitment to strengthen the creative industry ecosystem in West Java, especially in Bandung which has long been known as the "Unesco Creative City".

"Bandung and West Java are the heart of Indonesian innovation and culture. Since the Bandung Lautan Api era, the spirit of collaboration between academics, artists, and the community has produced monumental works," said Bey Machmudin. This was stated by Bey Machmudin during the Soft Launching of the ITB Art Market at the ITB West Hall, Saturday (15/2/2025) evening.

For that reason, in the 2025 momentum, Bey said that many residents of Bandung and West Java miss the legendary ITB Art Market event.

"Alhamdulillah, in 2025, frankly, we, the West Java Provincial Government, really miss this event and (because) Bandung is a creative city and (it is hoped) that through this event we can together revive art and creativity," he said.

During its run, Pasar Seni ITB always presents monumental performers and of course popular works. Bey believes Pasar Seni ITB will be the best art event in Indonesia.

"This should be the best art event in Indonesia. Because there are definitely many people interested in filling this event, (let's) produce the best," added Bey.

To realize this, the West Java Provincial Government is committed to supporting the 2025 ITB Art Market.

"We, the West Java Provincial Government, will always support the implementation of this event. Because the ITB Art Market is not only a space for works to be transacted, but also a laboratory for dialogue between tradition and modernity. I hope that the ITB Art Market can be a bridge for young artists to raise the richness of Sundanese culture to a wider arena," he said.

"I invite all parties to continue to maintain the fire of creativity without leaving behind cultural roots. Enjoy the strains of jazz tonight and explore the richness of the ITB Art Market," concluded Bey.
