PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Bogor Regent, Rudy Susmanto, together with the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Major General TNI Suharyanto, conducted a review of the assembly of the bailey bridge that will be installed on the Hankam bridge that was cut off due to the flood disaster in early March 2025.

The review was carried out at the bridge location connecting Jogjogan Village with Leuwimalang Village, Cisarua District (12/3/2025).

The flood disaster that hit Bogor Regency on March 3, 2025 caused damage to a number of infrastructures, including several bridges connecting the affected areas.

One of the bridges that was badly damaged was the Hankam bridge, which is a vital route connecting villages.

To restore public access, the Bogor Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR) is working with the TNI in assembling and installing a temporary Bailey bridge.

Head of BNPB, Major General TNI Suharyanto, said that the construction of this bridge was a quick step to ensure transportation access for people affected by the flood.

"We are collaborating with the TNI to ensure that this bridge can be used immediately in the near future, and in good enough condition so that the community can return to their activities without any obstacles," he said.

He also revealed that although the flood had receded, a number of bridges still needed immediate repairs.

"The flood that occurred did cause quite significant damage. However, we are grateful that the community is not too large.

Currently, there are seven bridges that need to be repaired, and two of them will soon be completed with the installation of the bailey bridge as we see today,” he explained.

He said, the bridge installation project is scheduled to be completed in a not too long time, thanks to the hard work of the TNI which continues to work non-stop.

"We will continue to unite this progress. Of course, the installation of this bridge is not just a temporary solution, but strong enough to support the movement of people in the long term. In the future, we will see further whether this bridge will be maintained or replaced with a permanent structure," added Suharyanto.

Furthermore, the Head of BNPB stated that the construction of this bridge has also received attention from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), which has given approval regarding its design and installation.

"We continue to ensure that all elements involved, including the BUMN that produced this bridge, can coordinate well so that the installation and functionality of the bridge can run optimally," concluded Regent Rudy Susmanto.

In addition to the Hankam bridge, related parties are also preparing to handle three other points affected by flooding in the Jabodetabek area, which are currently being repaired by the TNI.

"The installation of this Bailey bridge is expected to immediately increase accessibility for the community, restore normal life after the disaster, and accelerate recovery efforts in affected areas," he concluded. (Diskominfo Kab. Bogor/Fauziah)
