PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto revealed that the Bogor Regency Government (Pemdakab) held the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) among other things to intervene in market prices to keep them stable. In addition, so that people can buy basic food at low prices.

This was stated by Rudy when directly opening the Ngariung Ramadan activity which was carried out simultaneously in 40 sub-districts, at the Leuwiliang Sub-district Square, Bogor Regency, Tuesday (25/3/2025).

Rudy explained, Ngariung Ramadan will be a routine agenda of the Bogor Regency Government. Held every month in 40 sub-districts throughout Bogor Regency, this is to increase MSME products and people's purchasing power.

"When there is an increase in the price of rice, even though there are insignificant increases, then we intervene. We want to create stable food supplies. So routinely every month the government intervenes and subsidizes the price but the purchase is limited," he said.

Rudy explained that the purpose of GPM, in addition to suppressing price spikes, is so that the lower middle class and the general public can all buy basic food at low prices. To anticipate the increase in the price of meat and basic necessities ahead of Eid, related agencies have conducted an inventory.

"We would like to thank the Chairman and members of the Bogor Regency DPRD who supported this program to run well. GPM is one of the solutions to suppress price increases," he said.

Rudy explained, in the future, he will evaluate modern shops in Bogor Regency. The Bogor Regency Government wants to partner together so that all modern shops have MSME storefronts. Second, he wants to set standard prices for basic necessities in Bogor Regency.
