PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin encouraged the improvement of human resource skills through vocational training for 412 participants, (4/8/2026).

The Public Lecture on Vocational and Productivity Training Batch 3, Group 4, 2026 Fiscal Year took place at the West Bandung Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP).

Abdusy Syakur Amin stated that Garut Regency's economic growth in 2025 will reach 5.9 percent, with agriculture and tourism as the driving sectors.

"We generally see that Garut is a regency with economic growth of 5.9% in 2025. Two sectors influence the economy: agriculture and tourism," he said.

He asked participants to take the training seriously so that they have relevant skills that increase productivity and work competitiveness.

Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Agency (Disnakertrans) of Garut Regency, Nia Gania Karyana, said that barista skills offer job opportunities along with the development of hotels, restaurants, and the service sector.

"Baristas are widely available in Garut Regency, including hotels, restaurants, and so on. So, this BPVP isn't just a display at home, but also a platform for improving your skills," he said.

The Garut Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office is also exploring employment opportunities with a number of companies, including PT Tactical and Cardinal, after participants complete the training.

"Once the placement is clear, Mr. Iman will allocate 1,500 workers to be trained, with the proviso that they are able to be placed after training. Hopefully, this can be achieved," he said.

To address the limitations of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), the Manpower and Transmigration Office is collaborating with three training centers from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia.

The collaboration resulted in the allocation of training packages from the Center for Vocational Training and Productivity, which will run from August to December 2026.

The next training covers fisheries, agriculture, waste processing, and hospitality according to the needs of the business and industrial world.

"Well, that's why we're conveying this. To all the brothers and sisters present here, please inform everyone that this type of training will soon be available. It will be held in Garut Regency," Gania concluded.

A total of 412 participants from Garut Regency participated in training covering coffee barista, coffee cultivation, fishery product processing, and agroforestry vocations.
