PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, envisions all sub-district heads and village heads to increase preparedness in facing potential disasters due to the ongoing extreme weather.

He emphasized that the role of regional leaders is very crucial in disaster mitigation and coordination with related agencies.

Farhan also asked that all Sub-district and Urban Village Offices in Bandung City be used as examples as disaster alert posts and operate 24 hours.

"In conditions like this, sub-district heads and village heads must be at the forefront in ensuring the safety of residents. Don't wait for orders. Immediately take the initiative and coordinate with related agencies," said Farhan at Bandung City Hall (10/3/2025).

Some areas that receive special attention include Gedebage, Cikutra, Antapani, Arcamanik, Andir, Buahbatu, Sekeloa, and Ujungberung.

He asked that monitoring in vulnerable areas continue to be intensified, especially to anticipate floods, landslides and fallen trees.

Farhan also emphasized that disaster preparedness is not only the task of the central or regional government, but also the shared responsibility of all elements of society.

Therefore, he asked sub-district heads and village heads to continue educating their residents about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, not littering, and taking other preventive measures.

"We still have a lot of homework. Starting from repairing the embankment, cleaning the air ducts, to increasing community participation in disaster mitigation. We must do all of this together," he explained. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
