PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Highways and Spatial Planning Service (DBMPR) has the task of managing 2,362 kilometers of roads in the West Java region. With road stability reaching more than 83 percent.

Head of West Java DBMPR, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, said that his party continues to carry out maintenance, including routine maintenance and several road sections at certain stations that are being handled more optimally.

"What we are managing is 2,362 kilometers. The stability of our road is more than 83 percent. But the technical age is 63 percent. This means that even though the stability is high, even though the stability is high, the potential for damage is still there," said Bambang, Monday (19/2/2024) .

"We carry out maintenance, including routine maintenance that we carry out. Apart from several road sections at certain stations, we carry out more optimal handling," he added.

Bambang plans that in 2024 there will be around 230.98 kilometers of roads that we will repair. And spread in almost all cities and districts/cities in West Java.

"In 2024, we will repair around 230.98 kilometers. Spread across West Java. We will handle almost all of the districts/cities. We will maximize it. Our target for stability at the end of 2024 is around 87 percent," he said.

According to Bambang, there has been a decline in several roads in West Java which are in stable condition, as a result of load and weather. The budget for road handling is around IDR 600 billion, including for handling five bridges.

"Approximately 1,295 bridges are under the authority of the province. The priority that we are handling should be 33 bridges. But we have budget limitations, so we only have five," he said.

"We carry out normal maintenance. Hopefully the bridge we have will not collapse, because of our limited budget," concluded Bambang. (Parno)
