PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government received representatives from the Ministry of Population and Family Development (BKKBN) regarding the planned visit of a delegation from the Pakistani Government and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) at the Bandung City Hall (25/3/2025).

This visit aims to share knowledge and best practices in family planning programs in Indonesia.

Head of the Population and Family Planning Control Service (DPPKB), Dewi Kaniasari, Bandung City, said that a delegation from Pakistan is scheduled to visit on April 22-24, 2025.

The Pakistani delegation led by an official at the Director General level will conduct various activities in Bandung. Among them are to the Ibrahim Adjie Health Center, the contraceptive warehouse, and the Quality Family Village in Panyileukan District.

"Bandung was chosen as the benchmark location because it is considered successful in controlling population growth. The fertility rate of Bandung City in 2023 was recorded at 1.87, still in the safe category," said the Head of DPPKB.

Meanwhile, the Head of the West Java BKKBN Representative, Dadi Ahmad Roswandi, emphasized the importance of collaboration in reducing stunting rates.

"The prevalence of stunting in Bandung City has reached 16 percent. There is the Stunting Foster Parents program and the Indonesian Exemplary Father Movement which is expected to help reduce this number," he said.

Responding to this, the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, welcomed this visit as an opportunity to promote the city of Bandung in the eyes of the international community.

This will be a momentum to introduce the culture and economic potential of Bandung City.

"I am very happy if there are guests from abroad. Later, we will entertain them first on the evening of April 21 with a dinner together. Then, they will make a three-day visit that will be facilitated by the Population and Family Planning Control Service (DPPKB)," said Farhan.

He hopes that this visit can be a forum for sharing successful experiences in family planning programs while strengthening international relations in population development and family health. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
