PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - The Ciamis Regency Government, through the Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo), is developing an Omni Channel service at the 112 Call Center to expand access to public services and expedite emergency response.

This development was socialized in an activity that took place in the Ciamis Communication and Information Service Meeting Room, Thursday (16/7/2026).

Herry Somantri, Head of Public Information and Communications (IKP) at the Ciamis Communications and Information Office (Diskominfo), stated that the use of the 112 Call Center continues to increase. As of mid-2026, the service had received 5,510 calls, both for emergency and non-emergency situations.

According to Herry, the high level of service utilization has encouraged the Communication and Information Technology Office to introduce an Omni Channel innovation that integrates the 112 Call Center with text-based platforms, such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and in the future, TikTok.

"Through Omni Channel, the 112 service becomes more inclusive because the public, including people with disabilities, can submit reports via text-based media," he said.

In addition to improving service access, this development also integrates the 112 Call Center with the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) services so that the public can obtain public information more quickly and in an integrated manner.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Ciamis Regency Communications and Information Service, Enda Hidayat, emphasized that public services must continue to adapt to technological developments to become more effective and responsive.

"The challenges in the field are very dynamic. One of them is the rise of prank calls. We are currently coordinating with system developers to limit and block anonymous numbers making prank calls," he said.

He added that the chat-based service is expected to not only make things easier for people with disabilities but also help minimize misuse of emergency services because the reporter's digital identity is easier to trace.

Enda ensured that the development of Omni Channel would not compromise the quality of emergency response. He stated that speed of response remains a top priority, including for reports submitted via social media.

He also appreciated the support of all regional apparatus and related agencies that have collaborated in providing the 112 Call Center service, and hoped that cross-sector synergy would continue to be strengthened to improve the quality of service to the public.
