The activity, held at the West Java Provincial Communications and Information Office, was attended by public relations officers from various regional agencies, both offline and online via Zoom.
IKP TALKS #9 discussed the challenges of government public communications amidst changing public behavior in receiving information. The government is required to convey messages through a more engaging and easily understood approach without compromising accuracy, ethics, and substance.
Through this activity, public relations officers are equipped with an understanding of the principles of public communication, issue management, and strategies for producing creative and responsible social media content.
The material was delivered by two speakers, namely Professor of Padjadjaran University Prof. Dr. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, S.Sos., SH, M.Si., and Dimas Aditya Nugraha, S.Sos., M.Si., from the Ministry of Communication and Digital.
The discussion emphasized the importance of government public relations' ability to adapt communication strategies to audience characteristics and social media dynamics. Light, engaging content is expected to be a means of conveying government information more directly to the public, while still prioritizing truth and accountability.
Through IKP TALKS #9, West Java Communications and Information Technology Office hopes that the capacity of public relations officers in the regional government will increase so that they are able to produce informative, creative, and effective public communication content in building public trust.
