PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin attended the Rotinsulu Care Live Podcast at the Dr. HA Rotinsulu Tarogong Kidul Main Clinic (21/7/2026) to strengthen health services for the community.

The activity discussed strengthening primary services, referral services, human resources, information systems, and health insurance in Garut Regency.

Abdusy Syakur said that the Garut Regency Government was helped by the existence of the Dr. HA Rotinsulu Main Clinic amidst limited facilities and health workers.

"The point is to explain the role of this hospital in improving health services in Garut Regency. Of course, I, and we in the Garut Regency Government, feel very helped, and we also understand that the challenge we face is the limited health facilities and healthcare personnel," he said.

He explained that the land used by the clinic was a grant from the Garut Regency Government and had the potential to be expanded to support the upgrade of its status to a hospital.

Abdusy Syakur also asked managers to utilize digital and outdoor media to increase public awareness of available health services.

"Yes, of course I asked him, this is one of our efforts to socialize by creating Instagram, Facebook, and others," he said.

In addition, Abdusy Syakur encouraged the public to utilize available health services, including those at Dr. Slamet Regional General Hospital and Dr. HA Rotinsulu Main Clinic, especially for tuberculosis treatment.

"Thank God, the Head of the Department has worked hard to detect cases. We've almost reached our target. This way, they know and are aware of the need to seek treatment immediately. Where can they go? Yes, here. So, there's no excuse not to seek treatment," he said.

Head of the Main Clinic Dr. HA Rotinsulu Garut Sartika Nurwendah appreciated the support of the Garut Regency Government since the clinic's establishment until its current development.

He hopes the clinic can be upgraded to a hospital and add specialist services according to the needs of the Garut community.

"So now we are a Main Clinic for now, hopefully in the future we can upgrade to a hospital," he said.

"However, our services aren't limited to lung specialists; we also have internal medicine specialists. And perhaps in the future, we will add additional facilities and specialties to meet the needs of the Garut community," he said.

Head of the Garut Regency Health Office, Leli Yuliani, said that Garut Regency is ranked eighth in West Java with an estimated 12,000 tuberculosis sufferers.

According to him, early detection and regular treatment for six to nine months are the key to stopping the transmission of the disease.

"But we are indeed actively searching. We are looking for as many cases as possible for early detection and prompt treatment to ensure complete recovery and stop the spread. And we hope that in the future, cases will continue to decline," he said.
