PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Arts Circle Community presents the Embracing the Journey painting exhibition to encourage the public to remember history and care for the environment.

The exhibition will take place from 11–24 August 2026 at the Bandung Cultural Center Foundation Building as a continuation of the Unity–Bandung Art Project 1–2024.

The exhibition brings together works by artists from diverse backgrounds and styles that highlight journeys, memories, history, and social concerns.

The head of the Moya Kamaruddin Arts Circle Community said the exhibition invites the public to look back at the journey they have taken.

"Embracing the Journey is more than just a theme. It's an invitation to pause, reflect on the path we've traveled as a nation, and bravely embrace all the twists and turns that have shaped us today," he said on Monday (August 10, 2026).

According to Moya, artwork can be a trace of a journey as well as a space to revive memories, experiences, and concerns.

The exhibition also serves as a platform for Bandung artists to work together with a spirit of unity, solidarity, care, and compassion.

One of Muktar's works raises the theme of Palestine as an expression of anxiety about the conditions in Gaza as well as a prayer for peace.

"As a painter, I can only support this with symbols and artwork about Palestine. And I can only pray that this matter will be resolved quickly," he said.

The work of Greeting Nature also invites the younger generation to learn about and protect the environment through closeness to water, land, and air.

The historical journey of Bandung is presented through Teddy Osman's work, which depicts the atmosphere of the city in the past based on old photo documentation.

Teddy brings back heritage buildings and the atmosphere of Bandung, some of which have been lost, through his personal interpretation as an artist.

In addition to art appreciation, the exhibition brings social benefits through a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the works to help with post-disaster reconstruction.

The funds will be donated for post-flash flood reconstruction and rehabilitation in Pantai Cempaka Village, Bandar Pusaka District, Aceh Tamiang Regency.

Through this exhibition, the Arts Circle Community makes art a space for remembering, inspiring, sharing, and providing benefits to the community.
