PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin, gave encouragement to the participants of the movement to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an in Nyengseret Village, Astanaanyar District, Wednesday (12/3/2025).

Erwin took the time to review the implementation of the activity. Occasionally he also provided moral support so that the participants had the spirit to read the Quran.

"The movement to eradicate illiteracy of the Quran is a provision for humanity. Because one letter of the Quran multiplies goodness," he explained.

He added that the program was an implementation of Bandung Utama's vision and mission, namely Religious.

"The religious program is in accordance with our promise, namely the movement to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an. We do it in every sub-district," he said.

Responding to this, the Head of Astanaanyar District, Amin Jakarsih, said he was ready to support the Bandung City Government program.

"We are ready to support the Bandung City Government's program, one of which is currently the eradication of Al-Quran letter fraud," he said.

From the Bandung City Regional Secretariat's Social Welfare Section, as many as 3,246 participants from 151 sub-districts have registered for this program.

To ensure its effectiveness, this program involves 235 teaching staff from among religious teachers, madrasahs, and Islamic boarding schools.

The program implementation is carried out in two approaches. Structurally, through the involvement of 10,000 Quran teachers and all elementary and junior high school students in the Geulisan Program (Quran Literacy Movement).

Culturally, the Bandung City Government collaborates with communities and Islamic study groups to strengthen Al-Quran literacy in the community.

This activity will take place throughout the month of Ramadan, from 6 to 22 March 2025. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/rka)
