PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan invited the Padjadjaran University Alumni Association (IKA Unpad) to collaborate in facing various city challenges, especially in development and resolving strategic issues.

This invitation was conveyed at the IKA Unpad breaking fast event which was attended by alumni and the Unpad academic community, Saturday (8/3/2025).

Farhan said that Unpad is one of the leading universities in Indonesia that has produced many extraordinary figures and has a strategic role in the development of the city of Bandung.

"IKA Unpad was built on the basis of solidarity and our love while studying at Unpad. This identity must make us individuals who contribute to the city of Bandung, Indonesia, and the world," said Farhan.

According to him, currently the city of Bandung is facing various challenges. One of them is waste management and disaster preparedness. Therefore, he invited Unpad alumni to work together to find solutions to the city's problems.

"I use this opportunity to invite you to work together to resolve the various problems that are currently occurring. The most pressing issues at the moment are waste management and disaster emergency preparedness. This city needs our responsibility and enthusiasm to continue building," he added.

The Head of IKA Unpad Bandung City Management, Dicky Wishnumulya Ristandi welcomed the invitation. He said that Unpad alumni have been spread across various government sectors and are ready to contribute to the city's development.

"Unpad alumni are spread across various levels of Bandung City government, from ASN, PPPK, to non-ASN. Most of our extended family is ready to help develop the city," he said.

Dicky reminded, with the spirit of unity, IKA Unpad will continue to play an active role in supporting the development of the City of Bandung.

This breaking of the fast event is an important momentum for IKA Unpad and the Bandung City Government to strengthen synergy in realizing sustainable development.

Collaboration between Unpad alumni and the government is expected to provide real solutions to various urban challenges, especially in realizing the superior, open, trustworthy, advanced, and religious Main Bandung City. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/rka)
