PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Garut Regency Al Qur'an Education Communication Forum (FKPQ) is holding the 1st Al Qur'an Education Festival in Garut Regency in 2024 which will take place at the Assanusiyah Aly Mintarsih Foundation Education Campus, Ciparay Village, Tanjungsari Village, Karangpawitan District, Regency Garut, Saturday (4/5/2024).

This event was opened directly by the Regent's Expert Staff for Community Affairs and Human Resources (HR), Dr. Maskut Farid, with the theme "Competing in Goodness to Create a Rabbani Generation with a Qur'anic Spirit".

Dr. Maskut views this activity as very good and his party as the regional government will always support the implementation of activities like this, in accordance with the vision of Garut Regency, namely a pious, advanced and prosperous Garut.

"And this is organized by FKPQ, which is an organization under the Ministry of Religion, so the regional government must collaborate with the Ministry of Religion to create a god-fearing Garut, that may be important because the Ministry of Religion has a lot of human resources, yes, it has many institutions," he said.

He said that religious activities like this must continue to be encouraged as an effort to provide motivation to students and parents so that their children can understand more about religious matters, one of which is the Koran.

"Well, if there are more frequent events like this, God willing, it will spread even more, and maybe the impact will be positive for society," he continued.

Lastly, he hopes that through this activity children at an early age can be introduced to the importance of knowing the Qur'an as a guide to life.

"What is important is how these children are introduced to the Qur'an at an early age, because for Muslims the Qur'an is very important and everything for us," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the DPD FKPQ of Garut Regency, KH UU Ahmad Sobar, said that currently there are around 600 Al-Qur'an Education Institutions (LPQ) in Garut Regency. He also said that this Al-Qur'an Education Festival is the first to be held in Garut Regency, attended by 200 participants, in preparation for the implementation of the Al Qur'an Education Festival at the West Java Provincial Level.

In this festival, there are competitions, namely Coloring Contest, Daily Prayer Contest, Level Adhan Contest, Asmaul Husna Contest, Tahfidz Juz Amma Contest, Quiz Competition, Speech Contest, MTQ Contest, Syahril Qur'an, and Tahfidz Al Qur'an Contest. This event will be held for 3 days starting from Saturday, May 4 2024 to Monday, May 6 2024.
