PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi, provided clarification regarding the viral video of the Head of Gunung Menyan Village, Bogor Regency, Wiwin Komalasari, who was considered to be belittling the serving of boxed rice during the inauguration of the regional head in Bogor. According to Governor Dedi, this problem arose due to a misunderstanding in interpreting the joke delivered by the Village Head Wiwin.

In the video circulating, Kades Wiwin is seen carrying a plastic bag containing boxed rice that he received after attending the inauguration. Some people think his gestures and words seem to belittle the package.

However, when chatting with Governor Dedi via the KDM Channel YouTube channel, Wiwin explained that there was no intention to belittle him.

"I am very happy to receive this blessing, Mr. Governor, because it was the first time I received it at the regent's office. I received two boxes, then I ate in the parking lot with the driver and other village head colleagues," said Wiwin.

West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi also responded, "But the impression that netizens got was that the mother seemed to be belittling the package, as if it was just a box of rice, and nothing else." said Governor Dedi

Wiwin immediately straightened it out, "It's not like that, sir. The point is I was happy to receive the package, and it was just a joke. We ate together in the parking lot, behind the car, there was no other intention." said Wiwin.

Wiwin also said that she is used to going down to people's homes and eating with them, although she admitted that her appearance sometimes looks glamorous. "No one expects any more than a box of rice. Just attending the inauguration of the Regent is enough." she said.

Regarding the viral video, Wiwin has been summoned by the Bogor Regent, Deputy Regent, and Regional Secretary of Bogor Regency to explain the real situation. She also apologized and promised to be more careful in speaking in the future.

Governor Dedi reminded that the impact of social media is very large on public opinion and the running of government.

"When I first saw the video, I was indifferent because I knew my mother's character. However, netizens have a different perception. In this era of social media, I ask mothers to lower their tension and be wiser in their appearance and speech so as not to cause misunderstandings," he advised.

Governor Dedi also invited public officials to choose a simple appearance and be more sensitive to public perception, so that there are no misunderstandings that could have negative impacts.
