PORTALJABAR, SUBANG REGENCY - West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi, conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) of mining activities in the Subang Regency area, Friday (18/4/2025). This inspection revealed a number of serious violations that have an impact on environmental and infrastructure damage.
One of the main violations is mining trucks that exceed the maximum carrying capacity on provincial roads. It is known that a number of vehicles carry loads of up to 30 tons, exceeding the specified limit. This activity also contributes to road damage and economic losses for the surrounding community.
Responding to this, KDM - Dedi Mulyadi's nickname - instructed firm action in the form of revoking mining permits that violate the provisions.
"Activities that damage the environment and are not in the interests of the community cannot be tolerated. Permits must be revoked," the Governor stressed.
As a follow-up step, the Governor ordered a comprehensive evaluation of all mining permits in West Java. A coordination meeting between related regional agencies is scheduled to take place early next week.
This evaluation will involve the ESDM Service, the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Service (DPMPTSP), and the Civil Service Police Unit.
In addition, the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (DBMPR) was also asked to calculate the impact of damage to road infrastructure due to mining activities. The results of the calculation will be the basis for determining the obligation to compensate the miners.
This step reflects the commitment of the West Java Provincial Government to enforcing regulations, preserving the environment, and protecting the interests of the community.
