PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan supports every agenda that utilizes Bandung City as a location. Including the running sports agenda that involves many people.

According to Farhan, sports tourism can increase tourism and economic activity in the city of Bandung.

"We welcome Sport Tourism with great joy. We are open if there is a running event here, many choose Bandung City because of its comfortable atmosphere, especially if it is used for a running event," he said at the History Museum, Saturday (8/3/2025).

Farhan revealed this during a press conference for the Bandung 10K to be held by Bank bjb on May 18, 2025. This running agenda is a collaboration between Bank bjb, the Bandung City Government, the West Java Provincial Government, and Kompas.

According to Farhan, Bandung City with all its culinary heaven, fashion and so on, makes runners always want to come to Bandung City. Not just running but also wanting to shop and culinary tourism.

"This is what we want, to increase hotel occupancy and people's income from fashion and culinary," he said.

Farhan believes that runners like Bandung City because of its cool weather.

"The best place to run is in Bandung. The roads are full of trees, cool. This is what makes runners want to keep coming to Bandung," he said.

In the same place, the Chief Editor of Kompas Daily, Sutta Dharmasaputra explained that the aim of this activity was to revive Bandung which was full of enthusiasm.

"The strength of this city comes from the community. Enlivened again by tourists who come. So we are holding another event to make Bandung City excited," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Corporate Secretary of Bank bjb, Sani Ikhsan Maulana stated that his party is committed to holding a festive event in the city of Bandung.

"This running event is sustainable, so it becomes a unique attraction. This is a sustainable collaboration between the private sector and the government," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/rka)
