PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - To commemorate the 214th Anniversary of the City of Bandung (HJKB), the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) held a pilgrimage to the graves of the ancestors of the founders of Bandung, Thursday, September 19, 2024.
Pilgrimages are made to the grave sites of Dalemkaum, Karang Anyar, Dayeuh Kolot, Bandung Regency, and Dalem Gordah Tomb, Garut Regency.
The first location, namely the Dalemkaum tomb which is the tomb of the founder of Bandung City who was also the 6th Regent of Bandung (1794 – 1829), Rd. Adipati Wiranatakusumah VI (Dalemkaum).
The pilgrimage continued to the tombs of the Regents of Bandung on Jalan Karanganyar. The tomb of the first Regent of Bandung on Rd. Tumenggung Wira Angun-angun (1641 -1709) is adjacent to the National Hero on Rd. Dewi Sartika.
Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono accompanied by his wife and Acting Chair of TP PKK of Bandung City, Linda Nurani prayed and scattered flowers.
Also accompanying the Acting Mayor were the Acting Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Dharmawan, Forkopimda, Temporary Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, Heads of Regional Apparatus and a number of sub-district heads in Bandung City.
Bambang said that this pilgrimage was a form of gratitude and appreciation to the founders of Bandung, which has now reached the age of 214.
According to him, currently he and his staff are continuing the spirit, goals, and desires as well as the exemplary legacy of their ancestors, the founders of the City of Bandung.
"On behalf of the citizens of Bandung City, we express our gratitude for the HJKB's ability to make a pilgrimage to pray for the founders. The city of Bandung would never have existed without the founders," he said at the Karang Anyar Cemetery.
Bambang said that as the next generation, he invited people to pray and make maximum contributions to the city of Bandung.
"We pray that the founders of the nation will be blessed and forgiven for all their mistakes. Hopefully our efforts and endeavors to pray are not only during the HJKB moment but every day," he said.
"Currently, as the next generation, we can realize and provide benefits for the welfare of Bandung residents," he added.
The pilgrimage continues to Dayeuhkolot, there are seven graves of Bandung leaders, namely Ratu Wiranatakusumah (VIIth King of Timbanganten), the 1st Regent of Bandung, namely Rd. Tumenggung Wira Angun-Angun (1641-1709) or Raden Astramanggala, Rd. Tumenggung Anggadiredja II (IV Bandung Regent), Rd. Adipati Wiranatakusumah I whose real name is Anggadireja III (Vth Regent of Bandung), Rd. Demang Sastranegara (Patih Bandung), Rd. Rg. Somanegara (Patih Bandung), and Rd. Demang Suriadipradja (Hoofd Attorney Bandung).
Meanwhile, in Garut Regency, they made a pilgrimage to the tomb of R. Tumenggung Anggadiredja I or known as Dalem Gordah, the third Regent of Bandung (1704-1747).
Apart from the pilgrimage, basic food aid was also distributed to the beneficiaries and grave guards around the graves of the ancestors. (Diskominfo Bandung City)
