PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung City Regional Secretary Hikmat Ginanjar asked the Bandung City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to focus on maintaining order and protecting the community, including reducing potential conflicts.

"Satpol PP officers have an important role in the wheels of government, namely keeping Regional Regulations and Regional Regulations (Perkada) running," he said Hikmat at the 74th Anniversary Ceremony of Satpol PP and the 62nd Anniversary of the Bandung City Level Community Protection Unit, at Pusdikhub TNI AD Kodiklat, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Cimahi City, Wednesday (24/4/2024).

He stated that all regional regulations must be enforced in order to achieve public order, public peace and city security.

"On the one hand, Satlinmas focuses on maintaining order and protecting the community. Thus, the main tasks and functions of Satpol PP and Satlinmas are very intersecting," said Hikmat.

Hikmat said that Satlinmas officers are also trained and coached by Satpol PP so that their capacity and capability as people who come into direct contact with the community continues to increase.

"To Satpol PP to continue to work together with Satlinmas so that the city of Bandung remains conducive," he said.

Hikmat added that Linmas officers who have networks down to the RT/RW level must carry out their intelligence functions well.

"If in the field you see a potential disturbance to public order, such as a horizontal conflict, especially one that leads to the manifestation of violence, you should immediately report it to Satpol PP officers, Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS), or if necessary to the police," he explained.

He emphasized that this quick response is needed to reduce conflict if it occurs, so strong communication and coordination between Satlinmas officers and Satpol PP are needed. The hope is that it can minimize the negative impacts.

"I also ask that there be no tolerance for violators of Regional Regulations and Local Government Regulations, especially regarding permits, whether business permits, residence permits or building permits," he said.

According to him, Satpol PP and Satlinmas officers also have an important role in preventing crime, as well as detecting acts that violate traditional and religious norms.
