PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government extended its collaboration with the Cikarang Branch of BPJS Kesehatan through an addendum to the implementation of the National Health Insurance Program for non-wage earners and non-workers (1/7/2026).

The signing was carried out by the Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, together with the Head of the Cikarang BPJS Kesehatan Branch, Erwin Fadillah, at the Bekasi Regency Government Complex, Central Cikarang.

This collaboration maintains Universal Health Coverage at 99.6 percent so that the public continues to receive guaranteed health services.

Bekasi Acting Regent Asep Surya Atmaja said the extension of the cooperation is proof of the government's commitment to guaranteeing health services for the underprivileged.

"Thank God, today we have signed with the Head of the Cikarang BPJS Branch regarding the extension of health insurance for low-income residents in Bekasi Regency," he said.

Asep explained that Bekasi Regency has achieved Universal Health Coverage of 99.6 percent and the government is striving to maintain this achievement.

"As we know, we currently have a 99.6% UHC, and today it was signed. Why? To ensure that Bekasi Regency is ready to maintain that UHC," he said.

According to Asep, Universal Health Coverage of over 95 percent shows that the government is capable of protecting the public's right to receive health services.

Asep hopes that the central government will increase its support so that the financing for National Health Insurance Program participants can be covered by the State Budget.

"With this collaboration, the community will continue to be covered by BPJS Kesehatan. We also hope that in the future, more participants will have their costs covered by the state budget, so they won't just rely on the PBI PBD scheme but will also rely on the state budget," he said.

The extension of the addendum is expected to make it easier for the public to obtain quality health services while maintaining the sustainability of health protection for all residents of Bekasi Regency.
