PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government will soon install a Bailey bridge as a temporary connection for the Bogor - Karawang route.
The Loji Bridge collapsed after being hit by floods and eaten away by age, disrupting the mobility of residents from Bogor to Karawang and vice versa.
"The installation of the Bailey bridge is a quick and temporary solution. The bridge has now arrived at the location and is ready to be installed," said West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, Thursday (6/3/2025).
The installation of the Bailey bridge was carried out by a joint team from the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (DBMPR) with a construction time of two weeks or completion before Eid. This fast target was installed so as not to disrupt people's homecoming activities.
The governor apologized for the inconvenience experienced by the public. "We prioritize the safety and comfort of road users during the repair process," he said.
Dedi ensured that the collapsed Loji bridge was permanently rebuilt this year. To prevent similar incidents from happening again in other places, Dedi has instructed DBMPR to immediately record bridges that have exceeded their construction age for repair.
During the leadership of Dedi Mulyadi – Erwan Setiawan, the West Java Provincial Government in the first year focused on improving infrastructure. Starting from the efficiency of the bureaucratic budget to be reallocated to construction work.
"We ask for public support so that the infrastructure development and improvement program runs well," concluded Dedi.
