PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - This brilliant achievement was won by Bekasi Regency and at the same time shifted the dominance of Bandung City, which was the General Champion of West Java MTQ 9 times in a row.

At the 38th MTQ West Java which was held from 27 April-4 May 2024, Bekasi Regency as the General Champion achieved a score of 125, followed by 2nd place in Bandung Regency with a score of 59 and Bandung City was in 3rd place with a score of 53.

Meanwhile, Bogor City achieved 4th place with a score of 42 and Karawang Regency sat in 5th position with a score of 36.

The 38th MTQ series of events at the West Java level was officially closed by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, at the Bekasi Regency Government Plaza, on Saturday (04/05/2024) evening.

The determination of the general championship and regional achievement ranking for the 38th MTQ at the West Java level, was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the West Java Province LPTQ, Dodo Suhendar, based on the Decree of the 38th MTQ Board of Judges at the West Java Provincial Level in 2024 in Bekasi Regency Number: 06/DH -MTQ XXXVIII/5/2024.

Acting Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan said that the achievement of General Champion at the 38th MTQ West Java Level was the hard work of all parties over the past two years. Because of this, the title of General Champion makes Bekasi Regency declare itself as "Inner and Inner Champion".

The general champion in the field of sports, namely Porprov and Peparda, plus the General Champion in the field of Islamic religion, or spirituality, namely MTQ at West Java Province Level.

"Today we can declare that God willing, we are champions physically and mentally," he said after receiving the General Champion trophy from the Regional Secretary of West Java, Herman Suryatman, on the main stage of the 38th MTQ.

Furthermore, the successful 1st to 3rd place winners from Bekasi Regency will be re-selected by LPTQ to be prepared for the National MTQ event in East Kalimantan representing the West Java Province caravan.

"Because we contributed the most to the overall champions, it is likely that we will become the core strength of West Java Province," he explained.

To appreciate the 38th West Java MTQ Champions, Dani Ramdan said, the Bekasi Regency Government would increase the bonus for the winners by IDR 5 million. So each for 1st place IDR 105 million, 2nd place IDR 65 million and 3rd place IDR 45 million.

"We are increasing it so that the tax deduction is large. So if we give an additional Rp. 5 million, that is for the tax. And this bonus is also used to provide them with training," he concluded. (Diskominfo Bekasi Regency/Fauziah)
