PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Head of the Bandung City Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement Team (TP-PKK) Aryatri Benarto encouraged all cadres to make various Bandung City Government (Pemkot) programs a success. Some of them are waste management and social activities for the community.

The latest data shows that Bandung City produces 1,600 tons of waste per day. Seeing the large number, the Bandung City Government is currently trying to reduce the burden of waste to the Sarimukti TPA and solve the problem holistically, one of which is through the Waste Free Area (KBS) program.

Of the total 1,597 RW in Bandung City, the Waste Free Area (KBS) has only been implemented in 414 RW. The Bandung City Government is targeting to have 750 KBS by the end of 2025.

"To achieve this target, the involvement of PKK cadres in Bandung City is important, especially at the sub-district, village, and RT and RW levels by conducting socialization and monitoring," he said at the Silaturahmi activity with TP-PKK Bandung City, Monday (21/4/2025).

To manage organic waste at the regional level, composting facilities in each sub-district need to be maximized. Meanwhile, inorganic waste can be channeled to waste banks.

"We must create synergy between PKK cadres, I invite everyone to collaborate, not to compete, in order to achieve Bandung Utama (Excellent, Open, Trustworthy, Advanced, and Religious)," he added.

The same thing was conveyed by Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan. He encouraged TP-PKK to be able to make the Bandung City Government program a success.

"We believe this can be synergistic, even in the regions there needs to be socialization regarding waste management," he said.
