PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Jabar) has sealed the Bandung Zoo land after receiving a confiscation order from the Bandung Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor).
In this regard, the Bandung City Government ensures that there will be no layoffs for employees who have worked there.
Acting Mayor of Bandung A. Koswara emphasized that only the management experienced changes, while employees continued to work as usual.
"If the management is the business entity or the manager that is replaced, if the employees are still the old ones, no one is replaced. The problem is only with the management body, whether it remains in the form of a business entity or a foundation. If you want to replace it, we leave it to the Zoo Association to select a new manager," said Koswara, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Gedebage Market Retention Pond, Wednesday (5/2/2025).
Previously, the Special Criminal Assistant of the West Java High Prosecutor's Office, Dwi Agus Afrianto revealed, suddenly last week. This arrangement includes six asset points belonging to the Wildlife Foundation, including operational offices, buildings, and warehouses.
Dwi ensured that all employees and animals at Bandung Zoo remain in prime condition and are carrying out their activities as usual.
"We ensure that both employees and animals remain in good condition. Until a third party is appointed to operate this zoo," said Dwi at his office, Tuesday (4/2/2025).
Even though protection has been implemented, the West Java High Prosecutor's Office still permits the operation of Bandung Zoo so as not to cause social impacts on employees or animals there.
The AGO also proposed that Bandung Zoo be managed by a more competent third party in the future, considering that several foundation administrators are currently handling allegations of corruption.
As is known, the West Java High Prosecutor's Office has detained two suspects, Sri Devi (S) and Raden Bisa Bratakusuma (RBB), in the alleged illegal land acquisition case of Bandung Zoo. Both are suspected of never receiving any profit from managing the zoo to the Bandung City Government's regional treasury.
The Bandung Zoo land located on Jalan Kebun Binatang No. 6 with an area of 139,943 square meters and on Jalan Kebun Binatang No. 4 with an area of 285 square meters is the Regional Property (BMD) of the Bandung City Regional Government. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Revo)
