PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is determined to increase the number of tourist visits. One of them is by aligning infrastructure development and cultural preservation.

This determination was echoed by the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, to welcome the 214th Anniversary of the City of Bandung.

Bambang said, in line with the 214th Anniversary series with the theme Sustainable Progress, the Bandung City Government has the challenge of refreshing the attractiveness of existing tourist attractions and presenting new experiences for visitors.

"With the revitalization of several public spaces, we hope to increase accessibility, improve road infrastructure and public transportation to make it easier for visitors," he said during a coordination meeting via Zoom Meeting, Sunday (26/5/2024).

"We are returning the city of Bandung to become an iconic tourism city in Indonesia. This is what we are aiming for now," he said.

Regarding cultural preservation, according to Bambang, the city of Bandung has local cultural and historical values that can be sold to tourists.

"Sustainable development is able to integrate environmentally friendly concepts in the development of tourist attractions to maintain the natural beauty of Bandung," he said.

He also has a simple concept for utilizing Bandung City assets so that he can increase the happiness index and regional income.

"The concept is simple, increase the PAD of Bandung City, restore the tourism icon of Bandung City, bring in local and foreign tourists, create addicts to the city of Bandung and increase visiting time," he said.

Chairman of the 2024 HJKB Committee, Hikmat Ginanjar, explained the various activities that will enliven the anniversary of the city of Bandung.

The series of HJKB activities, which will be held from August to October involve the community and society. Among them:

- ASN and BUMD sports and creativity competitions.
- ⁠Sports competitions and artistic, cultural and community community creativity.
- Cultural arts from OPD (floats, cultural arts performances).
- Bazaars and exhibitions.
- ⁠OPD and Community social services (Beberesih Bandung, Bandung Sharing, health services, blood donations, Bandung Great sale, free cooked marriage).
- Religion (public lecture, Bandung beedzikir)
