PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan confirmed that the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is tightening supervision of the price of MinyaKita cooking oil in the market and ensuring that the distribution of food aid from the National Food Agency is on target to around 60 thousand heads of families in Bandung City as a measure to control regional inflation.

Supervision is carried out to maintain the stability of basic necessities prices while protecting people's purchasing power amid market dynamics.

Farhan explained that MinyaKita is not fully subsidized because around 30 percent of its distribution is controlled by Bulog, while the other 70 percent follows market mechanisms.

This condition requires local governments to conduct regular monitoring to ensure that prices remain in accordance with the Highest Retail Price (HET).

"Regarding cooking oil, as the Minister of Trade stated, MinyaKita is not entirely subsidized. Only around 30 percent of its distribution is controlled by Bulog, while the remaining 70 percent follows market mechanisms," Farhan said at Bandung City Hall on June 22, 2026.

The Bandung City Government will conduct routine monitoring in traditional markets and distribution channels to prevent price spikes that could burden the public.

In addition to price monitoring, the government is also preparing to distribute food aid in the form of MinyaKita and SPHP rice to beneficiary families.

Farhan said the aid was part of the National Food Agency's program to maintain food security for low-income communities.

He emphasized that around 60 thousand heads of families in Bandung City will receive this assistance in stages.

"Therefore, in order to control inflation, the Bandung City Government will ensure that prices comply with the highest retail price (HET) and ensure that food aid from the National Food Agency reaches those in need," he said.

The Bandung City Government hopes that price monitoring and distribution of food aid will be effective, thereby maintaining economic stability and easing the burden on vulnerable communities in the area.
