PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin gave high appreciation to the winners of the 2024 West Java Innovation Competition (KIJB) at the Trans Hotel, Bandung City, Thursday (11/21/2024).

In his speech, Bey emphasized the importance of innovation that not only results in awards, but also has a real impact on society.

"Congratulations to the award recipients. For those who have not received it, there is still one more year. West Java never lacks innovators. This year, there are 1,200 innovations registered, up from 850 last year," said Bey.

He also highlighted several superior innovations, such as Si-Kasep from PT Jasa and Kepariwisataan Jabar which makes it easier to manage assets and properties.

Then there is the Digital Partograph from Galuh University, Ciamis Regency, which helps monitor childbirth to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.

In addition, innovations such as Deer Diamond from Cabangbungin Regional Hospital, Bekasi Regency, and Awas Sikoma from Cimahi City were also mentioned as examples of breakthroughs that need to be replicated by other regencies/cities.

"If successful, innovations like this are not only worthy of being applied in other regions, but also become a new standard for public services," he said.

Bey also emphasized the importance of publication and utilization of these innovations by the community.

"This innovation must encourage convenience and effectiveness in people's lives so that it ultimately increases welfare," he stressed.

Bey hopes that KIJB will be a momentum to continue to produce innovations that are able to answer the challenges of the times, especially in the digital era.

"West Java must become an innovative province, not only in terms of numbers, but also the implementation of innovations that have a real impact," he concluded.
