PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government, together with the West Java Provincial Government, is expanding access to information and job opportunities through the West Java Online Job Fair.

Acting Bekasi Regent Asep Surya Atmaja and West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi attended the event at the MM2100 Area Management Office, West Cikarang, Wednesday (September 16, 2026).

The collaboration utilizes the Nyari Gawe digital platform to connect job vacancy information with job seekers.

The Bekasi Regency Government, through the Manpower Office, is gathering companies in its area to publish vacancy information through the West Java Online Job Fair.

The public can access job vacancy information through the Nyari Gawe platform and the Nyari Gawe application developed by the West Java Provincial Government.

Asep said that the Bekasi Regency Government continues to encourage companies to open up job opportunities for people domiciled in Bekasi Regency.

These efforts were carried out through communication and direct visits to a number of companies to convey the importance of opening vacancies for local residents.

"I've visited companies in person, one of the reasons being to request that they open job openings as we've determined, and that they be open to residents of Bekasi Regency," he said.

In addition, Asep will gather industrial area managers to discuss workforce needs and expand opportunities for Bekasi Regency residents.

Asep said that Bekasi Regency has at least 11 industrial areas which are an important part of the region's economic activity.

Therefore, company involvement in industrial areas is necessary to expand vacancy information and strengthen local workforce absorption.

"I will gather all industrial areas in Bekasi Regency. We will ask companies in those areas to prioritize recruiting residents with Bekasi Regency ID cards," he said.

However, Asep acknowledged that there are still challenges related to the readiness of human resources, which do not entirely meet the company's criteria and needs.

This condition has become a concern for the Bekasi Regency Government to strengthen education and training according to the needs of the world of work.

The party ensures that graduates of high schools, vocational schools, universities, and equivalent levels of education have the knowledge and skills required by industry.

"It is the Bekasi Regency Government's responsibility to ensure that every graduate, whether high school, vocational school, or equivalent, or even diploma or bachelor's degree, can become qualified human resources and possess the knowledge that companies are looking for," said Asep.

Meanwhile, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi encouraged the ongoing implementation of Online Job Fairs to ensure regular access to job opportunity information for the public.

He asked the Bekasi Regency Government to continue inviting companies to participate and publish job vacancies openly.

Dedi believes that open job vacancy information can expand public access and reduce the practice of brokering in job searches.

"I'm asking that this live job fair be held regularly, perhaps weekly, for example. Besides providing information to the public, we can reduce unemployment and eradicate job touts," he said.

He also encouraged companies in Bekasi Regency that have not yet participated to join the West Java Online Job Fair.

"In the future, we can continue to encourage companies to publish job vacancy information openly so that more people will know about it," he hoped.
