PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government inaugurated 41 state civil servants (ASN) to strengthen governance and public services.

The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, inaugurated and swore in 41 managerial officials in the Multipurpose Room of Bandung City Hall (31/8/2026).

Farhan asked the appointed officials to make integrity the main foundation in carrying out government duties and serving the public.

"To all newly inaugurated officials, I emphasize three words: Integrity, integrity, integrity. Nothing is more important in the eyes of the public about officials running the government than the word integrity," he said.

Besides integrity, Farhan emphasized the application of the three P principles, namely propriety, propriety, and compliance in every decision.

"The 3P principle—appropriate, proper, and obedient—must be our benchmark in running our government. The goal is to maintain integrity," he said.

Technical skills, according to Farhan, need to be accompanied by the ability to read situations, understand problems, and communicate with various parties.

Officials are also required to be able to communicate effectively with leaders, colleagues, the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), and the public.

Special attention is given to sub-district heads, village heads, sub-district secretaries, village secretaries, and section heads who deal directly with residents.

Farhan said regional officials face complex problems, ranging from administration, law enforcement, order, government programs, to social issues.

"Mayor, sub-district head, and village head are three positions that require 360-degree skills. They can't just master one area," he said.

Handling street vendors (PKL) and enforcing regional regulations in Bandung Kulon District and Cijerah Village are examples of the need for a rapid response from the apparatus.

"Rapid response is now a public demand without the need to create drama on social media. Therefore, the ability to manage territory and communities is key to success," he said.

Farhan also asked officials to maintain communication with the Bandung City DPRD to support the smooth running of development and public services.

"The presence of the DPRD Speaker and Deputy Speakers demonstrates the strategic value of this inauguration. Maintaining communication with the DPRD is key to the success of our work," he said.

He hopes that the 41 officials will carry out their mandate responsibly to support the vision of Bandung Utama, namely a Bandung that is Superior, Open, Trustworthy, Advanced, and Religious.
