PORTALJABAR, CIREBON REGENCY - The scorching sun did not dampen the enthusiasm and solidarity of students of SMAN 1 Sumber, Cirebon Regency, while participating in the second day of the Pancawaluya School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) 2026, Thursday (16/7/2026).

Carrying the theme of defending the country, hundreds of new students received material on national insight and practice of Marching Regulations (PBB) with members of Koramil 0620-13/Sumber.

A member of Koramil 0620-13/Sumber, Pelda Yusup Alpian, said that the national defense material was provided to foster a sense of love for the homeland, as well as to build a disciplined character from the start when students enter high school.

"We provide national insight material to foster a sense of love for the nation and state, then continue with the United Nations so they learn about togetherness, solidarity, and harmony in working together," he said.

According to him, the UN training not only teaches marching movements, but also trains students to be able to work in teams, respect each other, and be disciplined in carrying out tasks.

He also appreciated the enthusiasm of the students during the activities.

"Thank God, the students responded very well. Even though the weather was quite hot during the field practice, they remained enthusiastic about participating in all the activities," he said.

Pelda Yusup also advised all new students to continue to improve their discipline, enthusiasm for learning, and curiosity so they can keep up with the times.

"Most importantly, discipline must continue to improve. Furthermore, the spirit of innovation and curiosity must also be heightened. Don't forget to continue practicing your religious duties," he advised.

One of the new students, Prananda Abisecha, admitted that the national defense material was the most memorable experience during the two days of participating in MPLS.

"Earlier, there was national defense material from the Military District Command (Koramil), followed by a PBB practical. I thought the PBB material was the most exciting because I used to be a Scout, so I've already learned the basics," said the SMPN 1 Sumber graduate.
