PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Head of the Bandung City Transportation Agency, Rasdian Setiadi, has put hundreds of officers on standby at various strategic points to anticipate a surge in vehicles during the long weekend holiday while maintaining smooth traffic for residents and tourists (1/4/2026).

The surge in vehicles is estimated to occur due to the increase in visits by tourists from outside the city who are taking advantage of the long holiday in Bandung.

The Transportation Agency has deployed officers from various fields, from operational control, parking technical implementation units to traffic monitoring teams through an integrated monitoring system.

Rasdian explained that supervision is focused on potential congestion due to illegal parking and the activity of travel vehicles picking up and dropping off passengers on the road.

"There will definitely be a surge in visits. Therefore, we have prepared officers from various departments, from the Operations Unit (Dalops), Parking Technical Implementation Unit (UPT), to the traffic team who will monitor via ATCS," said Rasdian.

The Transportation Agency also implements direct action against traffic violations without only issuing warnings to drivers.

Officers have inventoried around 25 travel companies that are considered to have the potential to cause traffic jams in several parts of the city.

The Buahbatu, Pasteur, and Dipatiukur Canal areas are the focus of supervision because they are often used as locations for picking up and dropping off passengers.

"We've conducted outreach and made commitments. If violations persist, immediate action will be taken, including administrative sanctions and towing," Rasdian said.

Enforcement of illegal parking has also been tightened in busy tourist areas such as Alun-alun, Asia Afrika, and Braga.

Officers installed a road divider along approximately 50 meters in the Braga to Naripan area to prevent vehicles from parking haphazardly.

"In the Braga to Naripan area, we have installed a water barrier of about 50 meters to prevent disruption to traffic flow," said Rasdian.

The Transportation Agency has implemented a three-shift work system for officers from morning to midnight to ensure optimal traffic monitoring.

Supervision is strengthened especially in the afternoon and evening when the number of visitors to tourist areas usually increases.

Hundreds of personnel remain on standby in the field during the long holiday to ensure the safe and smooth mobility of residents and tourists.

"We've deployed hundreds of personnel and will remain on standby in the field. This demonstrates our commitment to maintaining controlled traffic during the long weekend," said Rasdian.
