PORTALJABAR, TASIKMALAYA REGENCY - Students of the Community Service Program (KKN) Group 94 of Sukaresik Village, Siliwangi University (Unsil) officially launched an economic empowerment program entitled Tape Empowerment Innovation (SIPETA) at the Sukaresik Village Sports Hall, Tasikmalaya Regency, Thursday (8/1/2026).
The SIPETA program is an initiative to develop local food potential by using tape as the basic ingredient for processed products with higher economic value, one of which is through making tape cake.
This program is aimed at increasing community income, encouraging a locally-based creative economy, and maintaining the sustainability of the culture and traditions of Sukaresik Village.
In addition to focusing on increasing product added value, SIPETA also encourages the optimization of local resource utilization through an educational and participatory approach to village communities.
In its implementation, SIPETA is implemented through several methods, including socialization regarding tape as the identity and superior product of Sukaresik Village MSMEs, live demonstrations of making tape cake as an innovative product, and distribution of recipe books containing various creative tape processing variants.
The SIPETA program was developed based on field observations and initial coordination with the Sukaresik Village Government. Tape, a superior village product, has been marketed conventionally, thus failing to provide maximum added value for MSMEs.
The Sukaresik Village Government welcomed the implementation of the SIPETA program and assessed that it aligns with the village's potential. This program is expected to broaden community perspectives, increase the competitiveness of local products, and serve as a sustainable step in strengthening the village economy based on its superior potential.
